GE is the best choice for residential standby applications. Here are some reasons why:

-Best warranty is the business-5 years parts and labor

-Patented power management controls can manage up to 8 appliances, which allows you to go with a smaller generator which means lower purchase cost and lower fuel consumption.

-Powerful Briggs and Stratton Proffesional series engines that employ pressurized lubrication like you would find in automotive engines.

How does the Standby Generator System work?

How does the GE Standby Generator System work?

At the point of loss of utility power, the system will wait approximately 10 seconds to start (this is to verify that the power is going to stay out). After it has started it will go through a warm up period of 20 seconds. After this time the transfer switch will change over to generator power, while at the same time isolating your power from the power company grid.

How do I select a ‘Whole House’ system that’s right for me?

Determining central air conditioning requirements and your home’s overall square footage together provides a good way to quickly ascertain your homes power needs. Our generator sales consultants will correctly size your generator system according to your needs during the initial site visit, which is FREE of charge. They will show you how you can “do more, with less”.

What is a transfer switch?

A transfer switch is a device that is fed by both utility and generator power. It isolates the two types of power from each other so a back feed does not occur. All of our Symphony transfer switches come with built-in power management controls, which allow you to go with a smaller generator that in turn saves you money on purchase cost and less fuel consumption for long term savings as well.
